MIAMI – Homestead-Miami Speedway will host three major weekends of springtime racing to open its 2000 schedule, featuring the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks, FedEx Champ Cars and Grand American sports cars. Anchoring the fall calendar is the return of NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series in the second annual Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart weekend.

The new season opens Feb. 25-26 with the fifth annual Florida Dodge Dealers 400, featuring the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in a Saturday feature.

The fifth annual Marlboro Grand Prix of Miami presented by Toyota is scheduled for March 24-26, showcasing the lightning-quick CART FedEx Championship Series cars.

Major sports car competition will be held on the 2.21-mile infield road circuit May 5-7, with the inaugural running of the Grand American Road Racing Championships.

NASCAR Winston Cup racing returns Nov. 10-12 with the running of the Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart. The weekend also includes the 2000 season finale for the NASCAR Busch Series in Saturday’s sixth annual 300 at Miami.

The Speedway is in the process of mailing ticket renewal forms to its 1999 customers, who will have until the end of the year to renew or upgrade their seats. Orders for first-time customers for all events are also being taken.
