Bicester, UK, Thursday 5th April 2001: With a full crash helmet on and travelling at over 150mph you won't catch this woman using the rear view mirror to apply her lipstick! And unlike the rest of us, when she needs her tyres changing she just pulls over and four strapping young men rush to her aid. and they seem to know what they're doing, which is a bonus! Holding her own in a male dominated sport the Venezuelan beauty will pilot one of the Dick Barbour Racing LMP (Le Mans Prototype) 675's entered in the European Le Mans Series sportscar race at Donington Park over Easter weekend, 13th/14th April.

Her name is Milka Duno and she has brains as well as looks, having completed five masters degrees in naval engineering, business organisation, marine business, naval architecture and marine biology. In her native Venezuela her day job is designing oil recovery ships but over the Easter weekend you will have the chance to catch a glimpse of this very fast lady as she takes the East Midlands circuit by storm. Milka has proved to her male counterparts and team bosses alike that she has the skill, determination and stamina to succeed in the demanding world of endurance sportscar racing.

The race at Donington Park commences at midday on Saturday 14th. It is the inaugural round of the European Le Mans Series and is based upon the rules of the classic 24 Hours of Le Mans. The ELMS motto, 'For the Fans', means that unlike Formula 1, spectators enjoy unrivalled accessibility to the cars and drivers. So meeting Milka in the flesh is a real possibility when she takes time out from race-qualifying for a driver autograph session, on-circuit from 1:00-1:45pm, on Friday 13th.
