</pre> The Euro TCC started. It's time for the Alfa Romeo stars to shine.

An hard fight till last second between Alfa and Honda opened 2001 Super Touring Championship with the new formula of FIA European Touring Car Championship. Two Alfa Romeo Nordauto drivers, Larini and Giovanardi conquered the leading positions. In order, Nicola and Fabrizio gained second and third positions on the starting grid of tomorrow's race. Good the ninth place for Romana Bernardoni, satisfied with her 156's performance. A very enthralling race is about to begin.

Nicola: "I am satisfied having improved my morning's time of a good second. Of course, Tarquini is very fast, anyway the gap isn't too big. Even if it won't be easy, I am confident for tomorrow's race. The challenge is about to start: we are competitive and we're going to show it!"

Fabrizio: "I am not surprised of the third position. I know very well Gabriele and Nicola and I know that this year it will be a very interesting challenge. Today I wanted to play with Nicola's sleamstrip but I didn't do my very 100%. We have still something to improve on the setting of the car... anyway I am confident for tomorrow. Furthermore I like very much the schedule of the inverted grid of the second race: all the fastest drivers will be in the same condition behind the other. Only in that occasion we will see the driver's capacity and not only the speed of the car".

Romana: "As far as my qualification practice is concerned, I am very satisfied having caught the first ten drivers' group. Of course I would have been happier if I could confirmed the eight position I gained at the very last laps but even the ninth is very good. I had a very good feeling with car. I realised that it has been improved under ever aspects".
