FECTEAU EARNS FIRST PODIUM IN TORONTO

Toronto, Ontario, July 12th, 2009. - Media Racing Team and driver/owner Jocelyn Fecteau passed another landmark this weekend with their career first podium finish in the Canadian Touring Car Championship rounds held at the returning Indy Toronto Grand Prix. It was also the maiden race program for the Mont St-Gregoire driver on the streets of downtown Toronto. Steering his Toyota Corolla XRS, Fecteau was third in the Saturday round while he crossed the chequered flag in sixth on Sunday (only to be classified seventh after a penalty).

"We dropped a new gearbox in our Toyota Corolla XRS for the all important Toronto weekend and it just worked perfectly from the Friday practice to the second race on Sunday", declared Jocelyn Fecteau. "I got the third best time in the Touring class in qualifying and just cruised to my first podium on Saturday. 2009 is a tremendous learning curve for all of us: we have to learn the ropes of this championship, the race tracks and develop the XRS. So, getting a podium here in Toronto, undoubtedly the toughest of all, and the largest grid of the season, is quite an accomplishment for the Media Racing Team."

Sunday, Fecteau was vying for a similar result but things did not materialize for Media Racing Team, "I was caught in a traffic jam in corner 3 and had to come to a dead stop to avoid contacting other cars", he added. "So I lost many positions and had to fight my way back. I passed a car (Lombardi) by mid race and was in sixth. But we slightly made contact and the officials set me back in seventh after the race. Considering we come out of this weekend with a podium and no mechanical breakdown, we are very happy. Our Corolla is quickly improving and we can forecast Top 5 finishes from now on and more podiums."

Next outing for the Canadian Touring Championship will have Media Racing Team and Fecteau take to the track at Calabogie Motorsports Park, a new facility west of Ottawa for yet another double header on July 25 and 26.
