Motorsport.com is moving into the future, acquiring assets to help the brand expand and continue producing top quality news covering all facets of the motorsports world.
Covy Moore, a 25-year-old photojournalism graduate from Alberta, Canada has been hired on as Content Manager, as of May 2013.
Moore graduated from the photojournalism program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2008, and spent a total of 6 years working in the newspaper industry.
Moore has been an avid fan of motorsports since early 2003, and began shooting racing for Motorsport.com in 2007. With years of journalism industry experience, he is an asset to the growing site.
“I am incredibly excited to be working with the Motorsport.com team,” Moore said. “Racing has been my life for ten years, and when the opportunity to work in the racing ranks using my training in journalism and photojournalism, I could not pass it up.”
Moore will be overseeing all the content on the site, writing original content, and covering specific events when the time allows.
“Motorsport.com was always my go-to place to see all the best photos, and get news from every single racing discipline imaginable,” Moore said.
“Now having the opportunity to move the site into the future seems like the perfect fit for me.”
Eric Gilbert, Art Director for Motorsport.com and point person for Moore says he is excited at having a fellow Canadian on board:
“I've known Covy for a few years, as he has been a contributor to Motorsport.com for quite some time. This history of working with us has proven to be key of hiring him in this critical role, as I always prefer to work with people whom I'm familiar with and know they can do the job. Motorsport.com is a content company, so a content manager really is the bandmaster and has to show immense leadership. We're also an online company so obviously, this person also have to be in sync with today's ways to distribute content that are in constant change. So it's a difficult role, and I'm convinced Covy is up to the challenge."
