Changan Ford racing team: aiming for another double-win

The China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) will return to Shanghai International Circuit (SIC) this weekend. Changan Ford Racing team, one of the season champion favorites, missed its chance to win a three-peat in the Beijing race due to a controversial penalty. The team was very surprised to see the result. Fortunately, the team has given a steady performance this season and is now 2nd on the team points table with only a 1 point difference.

Changan Ford racing team had two tests in Shanghai and Zhuhai in mid- October. John Ling, the team manager, indicated that they fixed the problems on car No. 15. And car No.12 and the cars will sure to bring a good performance in race 5. The temperature in Shanghai will be around 23 degrees during the race and John Ling said:" the temperature will allow the Yokohama tires to give a good performance and our fleet & drivers are in good shape for the weekend; thus we are very confident to win the race." Ling also indicated that SIC is a very challenging track for drivers as the track is wide and drivers will have a tendency to do more overtaking during the race. "With an unavoidable close fight coming up, we are again requesting all Ford drivers to 'finish the race safely and do a reasonable line'."

Rainey He is now 2nd on the driver's points table and looks very promising to win the champion title. Martin Cao, the youngest in CTCC, has been a focus this year. The team has witnessed his progress and strongly believes that he is one of the best. As recent mechanical problems are fixed now, Andy Yan will be sure to bring us another nice surprise. Tengyi Jiang is an excellent young driver and his touring car driving skills have improved a lot this season.

With only 2 races to go in 2009, the team is now very close to a double title win. Let's wait and see.
