Furlán on the pole in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, October 11th.- Knowing so well a circuit often helps and even more when you are a local driver. That was the case of Gabriel Furlán, who put his Mitsubishi Lancer on pole today for the eleventh round of the Argentinian TC2000 Championship.

The track called after national motorsport glory Oscar Gálvez normally hosts huge crowds, a big attendance of the media and a glamorous environment when the category visits the nation's capital.

Furlán fastest lap was 1m20.168s (150.596 km/h average speed) in the N°9, 3.353 metres layout. The semi-works Ford Escort Zetec of Crispín Beitía was second at 0.124s in his best Qualifying ever in TC2000. Another Ford, but this time a works Focus, driven by Walter Hernández, was third at 0.188s.

Three Chevrolet Astras followed in the list, the works cars of Marcelo Bugliotti and Christian Ledesma with Lucas Armellini in between.

From seventh to tenth, Guillermo Ortelli (Honda Civic), Gabriel Ponce de León (Ford Focus), Omar Martínez (Toyota Corolla) depite going out of the circuit and Nelson García (Ford Escort) completed the best placed participants.

A beautiful day is expected for the race. The morning short races on Sunday start at 10:00 and 10:30 with six laps each. Depending on the results of those heats, the grid for the main event will be donde before TC2000 shows some more closely fought competition at 12:40 for 39 laps or 60 minutes.
