Bathurst Motor Festival to continue legacy support

The Bathurst Motor Festival will again raise funds and awareness for Legacy this Easter.

Legacy currently cares for more than 100,000 widows and nearly 2,000 children and disabled dependants throughout Australia.

Admission to the three-day Bathurst Motor Festival Event will again be free of charge to all spectators; however everyone passing through the gate will be asked to make at a bank note donation to the charity.

Last year the Event delivered a three-day attendance of nearly 10,000 people, and more than $25,000 has been raised over the 2013 and 2012 Events.

“We are very pleased to continue to work with Legacy and support their outstanding work and dedication to people who need them in a time of need,” Bathurst Motor Festival Event Director, James O’Brien, said.

“It is especially appropriate given the Motor Festival will be held a week before ANZAC day this year, adding importance and recognition to Legacy’s efforts.

“We ask that everyone attending the Event this year give generously as they enter the venue on each day – donating $5 each day still makes the weekend outstandingly good value for money compared to any other national-level race meeting this year – so we hope that people really get behind this great cause.”

Continuing the tradition of the Motor Festival’s sister Event, the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, the April 18-20 weekend will allow spectators unprecedented access to Mount Panorama.

General admission allows spectators to access all major spectator areas around the circuit, including the top of the Mountain, the chase and pit straight.

Spectators are also able to access the top of the pit lane building and also the pit lane cafe’ for food and drinks.

The massive race and regularity program will deliver plenty of on-track action with teams friendly and open when they are not on track.

The Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship, NSW Production Touring Car Series, NSW Production Sports Cars, Group N Historic Touring Cars and two regularity classes – the NSW Road Racing Club and Porsche Club of NSW – will allow race series and competitors who otherwise wouldn’t get the chance an opportunity to get onto Mount Panorama.

The three-day Event includes practice and qualifying on Friday with racing commencing on Saturday morning.

Volunteers for both trackside and non-racing positions are still required for an incredible weekend that gets you closer to the access than ever before.
