Mark Skaife crashes new VR Commodore at 200 kph.

Touring car driver Mark Skaife survived a big 200 kph crash during practice at Eastern Creek in preparation for the Winfield Triple Challenge this weekend.

Skaife suffered concussion and heavy bruising to his right side and back when his new VR Commodore slammed into a concrete wall at the Sweeper (end of pit straight.) He was trapped in the car for 15 minutes before being cutout by rescue crews.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital where he will stay until doctors are sure nothing is wrong. He will, therefore, miss the Winfield Triple Challenge. The A$350,000 Commodore was a write-off.
