FIRST TIME LUCKY FOR TEAM PETRONAS PRIMAX

Michael Briggs of Team Petronas Primax ended the day in commanding style when he took 2nd and 1st in the Asian Touring Car Championship (Div.2) round 3 and 4 races respectively. The team that fielded two drivers, including local Mohd Fariqe Hairuman, is happy with the result today and will be looking forward to more action in the next Asian Festival of Speed event.

"This is perhaps one of the most difficult race I have ever been in with very competitive drivers from all around Asia." said the South African driver who traded the lead with Takayuki Fujita many times in round 4. Third place went to Ao Chi Hong of Hong Kong based Ao's Racing.

Division 1 was won by C.Nattavude in round 3 with Chen Jun San and Kenny Lo following closely behind in a total race time of 21mins 12.064secs on the demanding Johor Circuit. The bumper-to-bumper race also saw the drivers fought hard to the limit that provided the spectators plenty of action.

In round 4, Chen Jun San made a clean start and never look back until the chequered flag was waved at him. However, there were still plenty of action at the back of the of the field as we saw the Peugeot of C.Nattavude making daring overtaking maneuver from the back of the grid to finish on the podium.

His most impressive overtaking move was made against the Alfa 156 of Kenny Lo on lap 8 heading out of Turn 3 that sealed his 2nd position in the race.

Meanwhile, Japanese ace Taichiro Ohnishi had to retire early when gremlins played part in his car that resulted to him coasting off the track in lap 10. After a less-than-fruitful weekend here, the reigning championship WK-Longman team's driver is already making preparation for his next race in Shah Alam.
