Irwindale, Calif. - - With West Covina's Dave Lyon only 233 points out of first place in fourth and the first and second place Michael Thomas of San Marcos and Deyon Young of Las Vegas (last week' s winner) separated by only three scant points, this week's edition of the American Race Trucks (ART) main event at Irwindale Speedway should be a hotly-contested affair. For the record, the September 23rd race is the tenth of 14 races leading to the spec-type truck series' coveted 2000 divisional championship.

"Coming back to the same track two weeks in a row always tends to make the second race a good one," said Craig Stanbaugh and American Race Trucks official. "Everyone is already set up for Irwindale and will be able use practice to get physically and mentally dialed-in for the race itself. Believe me, these guys will really be ready to rock and roll on Saturday night."

Lurking in third place only 21 (very appropriate) points behind Deyon is Terry Young (also from Las Vegas), his brother. Terry finished second to Deyon in the last two ART go-rounds at Irwindale and will come back to the Speedway looking to bet big against his older brother for the first slot on the tote board.

Any way you deal the hand, the upcoming American Race Truck race should be a fine example of highly competitive racing. And ... With the division's National Finals scheduled for Irwindale Speedway only weeks away on November 3 and 4, everyone should be showing their best stuff on Saturday night.

Step right up, Ladies and Gentlemen, place your bets ... You can't win if you don't play.
