Salisbury, North Carolina, September 26, 2000 - Allison Legacy Series Drivers will be competing in the Anderson Tractor/John Deere Challenge 30 at the beautiful Martinsville Speedway in Virginia on Winston Cup Pole Day, September 29th. Forty drivers from 9 different states are entered in the most prestigious race on the Intermedia Allison Legacy Series Tour.

Eagle Motorsports/Owens-Corning driver, Mike Smith from Akron, Ohio in the #26 T-Bird will be defending his 1999 win. National Points Leader Jay Godley from Charlotte, NC in the #25 Godley Auction Company/Frankie's Fun Park ride will be a threat to Smith as he tries to hold on to his points lead. Godley has 1289 points going into the race and Smith is in second with 1246 points.

Jayme Bolkovac, Greensburg, Pennsylvania; Emily Harkins, Largo, Florida; and Sarah Schaub, Traverse City, Michigan are three female drivers in the Legacy Series who will be attempting to qualify for the 30 lap Challenge. Bolkovac is the Pennsylvania Regional Points Champion for 2000.

The Intermedia Allison Legacy Series has a National Touring Series and Regional Series across the U.S. Allison Legacy Cars are ¾ scale Winston Cup replicas powered by a Mazda B2200 engine.

The National Series moves on to the newly paved Cordele Speedway in Georgia on October 14th then Concord Motor Speedway on October 28th and Hickory Motor Speedway for a 300 lap event on November 12th. Legacy cars will return to Martinsville for a charity event race in conjunction with Martinsville Speedway's Souvenir Days on December 2nd.
