A.J. FOYT TO BE A ROOKIE AT PENNZOIL MOTORSPORTS '2000

FORT WASHINGTON, PA November 8, 1999 . . . When A.J. Foyt participates in the Pennzoil Motorsports 2000 Auto Racing Trade Show, January 15-17, 2000, he will be a rookie. Over the years there have been many, many well known racers and personalities in the motorsports industry participate in the three day show. A.J. Foyt will be making his first appearance and that will be as part of the huge Pennzoil display area. Foyt may even have the opportunity to hear show attendees sing "Happy Birthday" to him as he celebrates his 65th year on January 16. Always in the news, Foyt just recently announced that he will once again, after being away from NASCAR racing for a few years, field a NASCAR Winston Cup team. Using Pontiacs and having sponsorship support from Conseco ( an insurance and investment business headquartered in Indianapolis ). The five time winner (four times as a driver and one time (1999) as a car owner) of the Indianapolis 500 has yet to name a driver. Again in 2000 Foyt will field cars on the Pep Boys Indy Racing League circuit. Foyt's son Larry is scheduled to be in one of the Foyt entries while former motorcycle racer turned Indy car racer Jeff Ward is rumored to be in a second car. Truly one of the legends, considered to be the greatest driver by many, Foyt is looking forward to being part of Pennzoil Motorsports 2000 and signing autographs for many fans. The show, set for the Fort Washington Expo Center, has attracted 50,000 for the three days in the past. Foyt will be joining NASCAR Winston Cup driver Steve Park and IRL driver Scott Goodyear as part of the Pennzoil "family" that will be on hand for the show. In addition to Foyt and the many other drivers and personalities that will be on hand, one of the major attractions of the show will be the U.S. Tobacco Ms. Motorsports competition. The last show attracted close to 30 ladies to participate with the winner taking home cash and a variety of prizes. Entries for Ms. Motorsports are being accepted now.
