Gearbox problem halts Aaron's charge.

Weybridge racing driver Aaron Scott was at Brands Hatch on August Bank Holiday for the penultimate round of the Elf Clio Renault Sport UK Cup.

Having missed the majority of the Friday test after a gearbox failure Aaron did well to qualify the Omnico backed car in 11th place.

In Mondays 25 lap race Aaron made a fantastic start to move in to 8th place at the end of lap one. Aaron then moved into 7th place and began closing in on the group of cars in front. However after 7 laps the gearbox failed and Aaron was forced into the pits and an early retirement, costing the Tim Norton team a likely seasons best finish.

Aaron said, " We knew that this gearbox, which we borrowed from Renault, was weak as I had gear selection problems in qualifying. We hoped it would last for the race but it wasn't to be. We were very strong again this weekend, the team did a great job. I'll be looking to finish the year on a high note at Donington."

The final round at Donington takes place on September 22.
