SNETTERTON TEST RUN SEES IDAFAR CONTINUE GREAT FORM

Mere days away from the opening two rounds of this year's Formula Renault UK Winter Championship, teenage racer Menasheh Idafar continued his preparations well at Snetterton in Norfolk yesterday, Tuesday, 28th October, during general testing.

The 17-year-old, who will make his competitive debut in Formula Renault UK this coming Saturday, 1st November, at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire, took to the ever popular Snetterton track yesterday alongside Hillspeed team-mates Michael Lyons, James Theodore and Immanuel Bryson-Haynes.

Lapping the 1.95-mile venue with times just a couple of 10ths of a second away from the pace of the front-runners in this year's full Formula Renault UK series, the British-born Bahraini now heads to Croft to begin the build-up to the weekend's action.

Reflecting on Tuesday's test, Hillspeed driver coach Matt Shawyer said: "Menasheh did well, his lap times were good and consistent and we were just two or three 10ths of a second away from the times which were done at Snetterton when Formula Renault UK visited in the summer. All in all, everything looks good for the weekend."

Scheduled to run alongside fellow Winter Championship competitors during testing at Croft tomorrow, Thursday, 30th October, and again on Friday, 31st October, Menasheh will then head into qualifying for the first two races of the four-round championship at 09.30 on Saturday, 1st November.

Rounds one and two will also take place on Saturday with the first race timetabled to begin at around 11.10 and round two expected to follow at approximately 13.45.
