AKA COBRA ANNOUNCE DRIVERS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP CHALLENGE

Brands Hatch, Kent, UK -- 2 February 2007: AKA Cobra announced today that the drivers heading the team's assault on the 2007 Formula Renault UK title are Nathan Caratti, Adam Christodoulou, Chris Holmes and Jeremy Metcalfe.

Ownership of AKA Cobra is shared between Andrew Kirkaldy, Chris Niarchos and Paul Jackson; between them they make a formidable team, focused on winning the Formula Renault title in 2007.

Team Principal, Andrew Kirkaldy, explains the driver choices: "Jeremy is a second year driver and a clear favourite to win the Championship. He finished fifth last year which makes him the highest placed of the returning drivers and he has every chance of getting the job done. Nathan and Adam tested with us over the winter and both put in great performances. They are both fairly inexperienced - Nathan coming from Formula Ford and Adam from karting -- but we believe they are a strong long-term prospect. Chris came to us late but I have been impressed with his performance in testing. He's enthusiastic and works hard; he also knows the tracks well, coming from Formula BMW. The idea is that they all push each other along and that has started already in testing so I'm looking forward to a great season."

New team partner, Chris Niarchos, is looking forward to his first season as a team owner: "I am very excited about the driver line-up for 2007 and we have ambitious plans for them. Our objective is to win the Championship, both team and drivers, and use that as a great platform for the years to come. As this is my first experience as a team owner I am a bit nervous, but we have a fantastic group of people who are disciplined and dedicated, so I could not be more confident of the season ahead.

Chief Engineer, Paul Jackson, believes the team has what it takes to win in 2007: "We've got a great chance with Jeremy as he is a third year Renault driver; he knows what he needs to do to win. The other three drivers are all new to the Championship so Jeremy will be helping them along while they all aim at his times. They are all bonding well which is good to see as the team is much healthier when the drivers all work well together."

The AKA Cobra team are currently at Brands Hatch, in the midst of an extensive test programme, which must be completed before the test ban comes into force on 23 February. Once testing is over the team can look forward to the introduction of a whole new look for 2007; the all-new AKA Cobra logo is just the beginning.
