Bardon, Leicestershire, UK -- 9 July 2007: The Formula Renault circus arrives at Donington Park this weekend, just up the road from the AKA Cobra team HQ, for rounds 11 and 12 of the 2007 Championship. Jeremy Metcalfe is looking for another win after a great victory last time out at Oulton Park. Adam Christodoulou, who has finished in the top six in every race so far this year, will be looking for two more podium finishes, or perhaps that first win. Nathan Caratti and Chris Holmes both love racing at Donington and will be out to show that they can get the job done this weekend.
"I'm hopeful of some good results this weekend as we had a very constructive test at Brands Hatch last week. I know all of my drivers enjoy racing at Donington so that is in our favour. For the first time in a while the calendar isn't clashing with my own racing so I'll be at Donington this weekend to give my support."
Adam Christodoulou (currently 3rd in Championship standings):
"Oulton Park provided a big confidence boost for me so I can't wait to get back in the car again to race. I'm currently leading the graduate cup, and have extended my lead, and I'm hoping to do so again this weekend. Whilst testing at Donington at the start of the year I was as fast as the fastest, so I'll be aiming for another podium. The whole grid seems to be improving, but as everyone is getting faster I think myself and the team are also improving. It's going to be an exciting and action-packed weekend."
Jeremy Metcalfe (currently 7th in Championship standings):
"When we tested at Donington during the winter I was really fast so we're pretty confident we'll do well next weekend. Donington is the sort of track that is more down to driver ability than car set-up in my opinion so I'm sure we'll be right there at the front. Obviously you need a good car but I believe it's a circuit where there is more emphasis on the driver as it's a place where it's relatively easy to find a decent set-up. Hopefully my experience will count and we can get some more wins, that's the aim."
Chris Holmes (currently 9th in Championship standings):
"The test last week was positive for me and has really helped to lift my confidence. I know Donington well and I love racing there. So far good race results seem to have eluded me there so I hope to change that this weekend. There are some really good corners at Donington, especially the Craner Curves and the Old Hairpin. My goal this weekend is to learn how to get the best out of new tyres. The racing is going to be incredibly close so every split second is going to count more than ever before."
Nathan Caratti (currently 10th in Championship standings):
"We've just had a very good test at Brands Hatch. It didn't look great on paper but in the morning session I ended up around p14 without having a run on new tyres which would have put me well inside the top ten. With this in mind I'm looking forward to the Donington round. During the last few rounds I have showed some good pace so I hope I can continue to improve and start looking at some top five results. Donington is one of my favourite tracks in the UK and in the past private tests there I have been very close to my more experienced team mates so I'm feeling positive."
The teams have a day of testing at Donington on Thursday before racing gets underway at the weekend. Each race will have its own qualifying session this time out; the sessions take place on Saturday at 1035hrs and 1515hrs. The two races will take place on Sunday at 1040hrs and 1610hrs.
