Brno qualifying 1 & 2 - Jani Flies on 2 poles, Rojas impressive!
Neel Jani impressed the FRV6 paddock today with a dominant drive on both sessions and 2 pole positions with an amazing margin over his competitors. Today was also the time of Memo Rojas who missed the front row with his team mate for 1 tenth of a second due to traffic in the 2nd qualifying. Bruce Lorgere-Roux did not manage to confirm his excellent lap times in the free practice sessions.
Jean-Paul Driot : "I am proud of the drivers and the Team who did an excellent job and are proving that we do not give up after all the problems we had in the beginning of the season. Now Neel is at the place he should be and we were really impressed by his performance today. I am also really happy to see Memo getting back in the top. From the beginning when we tested him we knew that the potential was here. Then we did a long work in order for him to manage the different way of racing in Europe. The first races did not bring exactly what we expected for many reasons but we have been patient and I am sure that from now Memo will make part of the main contenders for the podium."
Neel Jani : "The car has improved a little bit more and this helped me to drive in a different way. The change was not very big and I was amazed to see the gap at the end of the sessions. I am happy but the race is not won and we need now to prepare a perfect car and strategy for tomorrow."
Memo Rojas : "The rain one more time made the first qualifying very special with 1 wet corner only and slick tires. But this week end I have the best car I ever had and my place in the 2nd qualifying brings me a lot of satisfaction. I did not find a clear lap in the first 2 laps when the tyres were working at their best (very grippy track) and I did my time on the 3rd lap which made me lose this front row. Any way most of the problems are fixed and we have showed that in normal conditions, without rain or braking and tyre problems, we can be quick."
Bruce Lorgere-Roux : "On both sessions I did not find the speed like in the free practice. I am disappointed but I will push to get a result in the race."
