TECH 1 RACING SIGNS PAUL-LOUP CHATIN
The EUROFORMULA VOLANT winner and FIA Institute Young Driver Excellence Academy rookie, young Paul-Loup Chatin has just been signed by TECH 1 Racing to take on the EUROCUP FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 challenge, part of the WORLD SERIES by RENAULT, as well as the new championship: FORMULA RENAULT ALPS.
Paul-Loup CHATIN had no hesitation in signing up:
"To my mind, TECH 1 Racing is the best FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 team. Signing with them was an obvious move. They're professionals in a great work environment," he said. "There's no doubt they have the competitive spirit. I'm going to be in the best working conditions possible to improve my skills and reach my goals."
Fourth in the F4 Eurocup 1.6L 2010 with two victories, the "EUROFORMULA VOLANT" can't wait to take on the tough challenge that is the EUROCUP FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 :
"I know it's not going to be easy but I'm ready for the challenge! The fact that I'm taking part in two championships means my inexperience will soon be old history, I have to do this. It's a very busy schedule so I won't have time to sit back and relax. I've prepared myself physically for this so I can now focus entirely on my driving. It's almost impossible to win the EUROCUP FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 in the first year, well in any case it's never happened before, so I am aware of how tough it is. Right from the start, I'm going to try and score as many points as possible without making any mistakes and just get the experience. And then, in the second half of the season, I'm going to try to win podiums and victories, and hope I finish in the top 5 of the championship!"
The EUROFORMULA School, of which Paul-Loup CHATIN is the "VOLANT" on the LA CHATRE race track, will be backing him all the way through this challenge.
"It's a really technical race track which helped me improve my precision and tapered braking skills. My coaches taught me to be patient which is a bit of a go-kart driver's weakness because we accelerate right from the start. Beyond driving skills though, winning the "EUROFORMULA VOLANT" has also given me a certain notoriety, which has bolstered my sponsors' trust in me and brought new ones to my side. I'd like to thank the EUROFORMULA School for everything they taught me."
Paul-Loup CHATIN is now going to take his new single-seater out for a few trial runs before heading for the MOTORLAND ARAGON race track for the start of 2011.
