Irish Formula Europa 2000 Champion Keith Dempsey heads for his first race in the European Formula Renault Championship at Monza in Italy on Saturday 31st March with Cliff Dempsey Racing (CDR).

The 17 year old who is the youngest Irish driver ever to race Internationally, has the daunting task of racing on the high speed Monza circuit with very little testing. He gets two half hour untimed sessions on Friday before going straight into first qualifying on Friday evening. Forty-four cars will go into qualifying and thirty-six will make the grid for the race, which goes out LIVE on Eurosport on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

The young Irish driver who will not have his 2000 team mate Paul Dagg with him, due to financial problems, has to lead the team on his own, but having had some very impressive testing times at Silverstone and Magny Cours Keith is looking forward to getting on with the job.

Keith is being sponsored by Irish Ferries, Richmond Recruitment, Tullamore Dew Whiskey, Mintex brake pads and some private investors.
