Qualifying

No mistake can be made in the streets of Monaco, Christian MURCHISON and Jose Maria LOPEZ learned it to their own cost during Saturday qualifying. The 2 DAMS drivers who were on the top of the hierarchy hit the wall in Sainte Devote (MURCHISON) and Massenet (LOPEZ) before the first half of the session. Out of the car, they looked their competitors improving their times in the last 5 minutes without being able to take part in the fight. The Australian driver who crashed very early in the session finished at the 11th place, as the Argentine saved the situation by getting the 5th place on the grid.

Adam LANGLEY-KHAN, who is just 18 years old and drove his car at more than 200kph in the streets of Monaco without having a driving licence, suffered of strong pain in the neck and managed in this difficult situation to get the 14th time. Immediately at the end of the session he was transferred to the Princess Grace Hospital where no major problem was identified.

"I passed a few cars on the start of the race, said Adam. In the group of cars I had a few opportunities to overtake in some areas where I was faster than them. But the team orders were very clear : no risk! Any way I passed Dekarski on the outside line in the tunnel, it was fun! 7 laps before the end the pain was so strong that I was close to stop but I decided to try to finish as I was very close from the points. Unfortunately all cars kept then their positions." During the race, Adam managed to improve his best lap time obtained in qualifying by nearly 1 second, which impressed a lot the team.

Even if he had a good start, Christian MURCHISON had to avoid cars cutting illegally the corner and lost 2 places at Sainte D
