The young 20 years old Belgian race driver Mike DEN TANDT will drive a DAMS Formula Renault V6 for the Oschersleben event in replacement of Christian MURCHISON unavailable for the week end.

Junior World Champion of Karting in 1996, DEN TANDT began his career of race cars driver in 2000 with Belgian & Benelux Formula Ford Championship win. After this impressive result Mike switched to the Italian Formula Renault 2000 championship and finished 2nd for his first race at Spa. In 2002 he raced in 5 Eurocup Formula Renault 2000 events with 2nd and 3rd place obtained at Spa and 2nd place at Vallelunga as best results.

"We knew Mike as we had discussions last winter with his management for this season, said Eric BOULLIER, Technical and Managing Director of DAMS. Unfortunately we have not been able to put all the conditions together to have Mike with us this year. I know that Mike is talented, this week end is a great opportunity for him to show what he is able to do."

Mike DEN TANDT : "I am very Happy. This week end in a top Team is very important for me and my motivation has never been so high. I have been patient, I preferred not drive for Teams without strong references, finally I think I was right to wait as today I have this opportunity to drive in a good Team which will give me the right conditions to get good results."
