Le Castellet, 4th December 2003 - Young British DAMS driver James ROSSITER has set the fastest time of Paul Ricard test day 2. In the morning session the rain kept the track wet until the lunch break. In the afternoon the track dried progressively and allowed all teams to work on dry set up and finish the day with a run in new tyres.
Jean-Paul DRIOT, Team Principal : "This was our last test in 2003. We started the season with the fastest time in Barcelona with LOPEZ, it is actually good news to finish the year at the same place, with James. This means that the Team is still focused and motivated to win again next year."
James ROSSITER : "The Team did a really good job. They work hard and they gave me the best car for dry track. I am very happy with the team. We have worked on the set up all day and finally the result is good."
Memo ROJAS : "I am learning a lot. European racing is really different with racing in USA. I need to train more on the rain, the others drivers have much more experience in these conditions. Also I am adapting my driving style to the car, especially braking. This afternoon I improved by half a second my best time just by changing my driving style. Many things like the use of new tires (in USA we had very hard tyres, 1 set for all the week end!) are new for me. Step by step everything is coming well, I am confident for the coming season and I feel really good with the Team." <pre> Pos Driver Team Time Laps 1 Rossiter DAMS 1'22.156 58 2 Van Lagen ITR 1'22.498 67 3 Pasini Victory 1'22.819 52 4 Preoto Eurointer. 1'22.880 64 5 Pitz Jenzer 1'23.045 65 6 Rojas DAMS 1'23.081 59 7 Sharp Jenzer 1'23.117 15
