April 14 (Argentina) -- Matmas Rico, 19, died of serious wounds to his body sustained during a racing accident. The young man from Necochea, Argentina was racing in the Formula Super Renault 2000 series at the Autodromo Ciudad de Rio Cuarto track in Cordoba.

At the start of the race, he lost control of the car and shot across the track with the rest of the field in full acceleration. The multiple hits that were produced caused extensive damage and he was pronounced dead at the local hospital.

The activity of the Formula Renault, Formula Super Renault and Copa Megane was suspended, while the directors of the T.C. 2000 decided to continue with the racing.
