The French driver Simon Pagenaud, vice-champion of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2004, has signed an agreement with the World Series by Renault Team Saulnier Racing for 2005.

Simon Pagenaud (20) will take a step forward in this racing career entering the World Series by Renault Championship. Simon was the Runner-Up in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and finished 6th in the French Formula Renault 2000. This young and talented driver has grown in the Filière Renault and now he will take an upgrade entering in the World Series by Renault.

The driver will make his debut this weekend in the HTTT Circuit of Paul Ricard during the scheduled Collective Test (19-20 February 2005).

Simon Pageneaud (Saulnier Racing)

"The Formula Renault 3.5 is a very powerful car and features an F1-type gearbox. This championship is going to be very tough but I'm currently preparing myself to face this challenge. The test in Paul Ricard the next weekend will allow me to see where I am and will let me familiarise with the car. New car and new championship: the counter is at Zero. I feel more motivated than ever!"

Serge Saulnier, Team Principal

"It looks essential to me to have a young driver in the 2005 Team. Simon has grown-up in the Filière Renault. He is very talented and responds to our needs of having a new young driver in our Team. Although he is a young guy, he's very mature and professional."

The World Series by Renault 2005 Championship will start the next 1st of May in Zolder (Belgium)
