DANIELSSON AND DAMS BACK IN THE FRONT

The beginning of this 2005 season in World Series has been a tough moment for DAMS and the team was expecting to return at the front of the field as soon as possible. Today Alx DANIELSSON brought to the team its first top qualifying result of the season with 2nd place of his group in the qualifying of race 2 and confirmed all the good signs seen during the winter testing.

Alx DANIELSSON : "We have been quite unlucky since the beginning of the year and this good result had to happen one day or another. We had a good strategy during this qualifying (we fit new tires at the right time during the session), also the work done on the car was good, we had no problem, I am happy with this result. In the first qualifying it was going quite well, in the middle of the session I was fastest, but my tires went off in the end of the session and in my final lap I was improving my time when a car crashed and caused a red flag, which resulted with 5th place in my group. For tomorrow we need to prepare a good strategy, especially for the 2nd race with our good position and a pit stop. Race 1 will be very important because we will be in a position to score important points and we will get very important information from it for the 2nd race."

Raffaele GIAMMARIA took 22nd and 20th place for tomorrows race. The Italian driver could not find the pace in both sessions and was disappointed by this result after the great results he obtained in street circuits in the past (Monaco F3000).
