The final F.Renault 3.5 pre-season test drew to a close in Jerez today, with AVF ending in the top ten with both Zoel Amberg and Beitske Visser. Amberg fought back from a technical issue he suffered in the morning session (a driveshaft failure) to clock the afternoon's 3rd quickest time of at the end of a successful race simulation, while Visser made a further step in the right direction upping her pace considerably both on new and used rubber. The 19-year-old Dutch girl clocked a 1'26"982 on new tyres in the morning, a laptime that was just 0"9 shy of the quickest performance overall. In the afternoon Beitske drove an half-race simulation on a very good pace that actually allowed her to end the final session of this Jerez test in 8th place.

Beitske Visser: S1 - P19; S2 - P8
"I'm really delighted by the outcome of this test. Today I managed to bring the gap to the best drivers down to less than one second, and despite three busy days of running my body reacted well. I just need some more strength in my arms to cope with the steering in the hi-speed corners, but it's something I'll sort out before the Monza season opener. Today, with the team's announcement, was quite a special moment for me, I'm really happy and I can't wait for the start of the season".

Zoel Amberg: S1 - P11; S2 - P11
"My day wasn't so lucky, as early in the morning I wasted the only set of new tyres I had left because of a driveshaft failure. Despite that we still managed to carry out our programme in the afternoon with a race simulation that went pretty well, our pace was good even if we were running on very worn tyres. That bodes well for the season, AVF did a great job and we have many reasons to feel confident looking to the start of the season in Monza".
