No time for a breather: only two weeks after the season opener in Beijing, Formula E takes to the track this Saturday (November 7) in Putrajaya just a thirty-minute drive from the doors of Kuala Lumpur.
Captain Daniel Abt
The race weekend started for Daniel Abt with a trip on Putrajaya Lake in the heart of the city. The 650-hectare lake was used by one television crew as backdrop for the preview of the Formula E race. While the youngster cruised sedately at the ruder of the motorboat, the water is usually venue for more action: in addition to the Powerboat World Championship, the Red Bull Air Race also featured here.
Drivers choose Lucas di Grassi as their representative
The Formula E drivers have chosen Lucas di Grassi and Jean-Éric Vergne to be their spokesmen. With immediate effect, they will represent the drivers' interest as far as safety, track modifications or where organizational matters are concerned. "I feel honored to be one of the spokesmen. We'll do our utmost together that Formula E develops positively in the future," says Lucas di Grassi.
Shuttle service with particularly sporty models
Delight for Daniel and Hans-Jürgen Abt when they saw the shuttle cars in front of the hotel: many models are tuned by ABT Sportsline and, as a result, were the main attraction outside the paddock. As at every race, partner Volkswagen organizes transport for the entire team. Incidentally, the ABT logos on the cars were no coincidence: the visual and technical tuning by ABT Sportsline are very popular in Singapore and Malaysia.
Lucas di Grassi visits TV channel FOX in Singapore
Fans looked in vain for Lucas di Grassi in the paddock on Thursday. The Brazilian had travelled to Singapore at the invitation of TV channel Fox to promote Formula E and the event in Malaysia. Around 100 million people follow the channel's coverage throughout Asia.
