Formula E boss “very optimistic” over Paris street race

Series CEO Alejandro Agag targets a race on the streets of Paris in the second season of the revolutionary all-electric single-seater championship.

Speaking exclusively with Motorsport.com, we asked Agag if rumours of the long-mooted Paris event being on and then off were true.

He replied: “It’s actually neither on or off! We are working on it.

“We have an open conversation with Paris and we hope it will end up on a positive note. I’m very optimistic, but it’s not done. So I never talk about things until they are done.

“But… The last time I said I was optimistic about racing somewhere was Battersea (Park in London, the season one finale) – and we are going to race in Battersea. I’m also optimistic about Paris, but let’s wait until we see the final decision.

“It would be great to get Paris on board. An amazing city, a great venue. A lot of electric car industry is based in Paris. It’s a city that is working to be more sustainable and cleaner (energy) – great for us.”
