With another victory and pole position garnered at the last round of the FIA GT Series in Slovakia, Sébastien Loeb Racing maintained their second position in the Teams championship standings. Mathematically, the Alsacian team is still in the hunt for the title, but they don’t plan on doing any arithmetic for the last two rounds of the season. The two McLaren MP4-12C will only have one mission: onward to victory*!
This year, Sébastien Loeb Racing has not always had luck on its side in the FIA GT Series. Including a false start from a competitor that quite simply ruined the No.9 McLaren MP4-12C’s race in Slovakia. But this incident, and other tough moments thrown in their direction, will not keep the team down, but has instead made them stronger than ever and more determined to finish the season with the pedal to the metal. Before the finale at Baku, the Soulz-Sous-Forêts based team will get a chance to prove itself in Spain, at Navarra.
Behind the wheel of the No.10, that he will share with Mike Parisy, Andreas Zuber is also showing a certain amount of serenity before the weekend. « Sébastien Loeb Racing has been very strong since the start of the season » he says. « The team is extremely well prepared and their technical choices are always good. They’ve shown massive amounts of motivation and always do a superb job. In qualifying, Mike and I are always in the hunt ; the race as well. We haven’t finished the job because of race incidents, penalties or technical issues which aren’t within the control of the team. They are elements that are out of our hands. But we have everything it takes to succeed and we intend to show it at Navarra ! »
The race is often won or lost on the track and, with this in mind, the team will be relying on two solid driver lineups, both quick and experienced. But the race can sometimes come down to pit stops – proven by the team’s second place in the latest pitstop challenge. Competitive, ambitious and blessed with an unparalleled work ethic, Sébastien Loeb Racing is determined to fight for more successes.
The first answers will come during qualifying on Saturday, September 28 at 5pm. The start of the qualifying race will be given on Sunday at 10 :15am while the championship race will start at 2 :15pm.
