- Markus Winkelhock named new driver
- Dominik Schwager and Nicky Pastorelli still in
- Rene Munnich: "We are optimally prepared"
Friedersdorf (rol/ot) The German Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf will be on track for the second season of the FIA GT1 World Championship with three well-known and one new driver. Besides team manager Marc Basseng (32) from German Neusalza-Spremberg there are Nicky Pastorelli (27/Netherlands/Italy) and the German Dominik Schwager (34/Munich) like at the first GT1 World season last year in the cockpit of the two Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 RS-V of the racing stable from Saxony.
Team principal Rene Munnich announced a very experienced pro race driver as new signing on Friday (11th of March). It is nobody less than the German Markus Winkelhock (Berglen-Steinach), which will share the cockpit with Marc Basseng. The 30 year old has been on track the last four years at the DTM (German Touring Car Masters) for the team Audi and earlier he made his rounds as driver at the Formula 1.
"We have two strong driver duos in our team. The cars that are on its way to the United Arab Emirates already are very well prepared by our crew", tells team principal and racing stable owner Rene Munnich. "We are optimally prepared. Now we can start into the new season." The drivers will be on their way to the race track Yas Marina on the 20th of March to race this track at the first out of ten racing weekends of the FIA GT1 World Championship on the 25th and 26th of March. In between that there is a very special highlight for ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport: On 14th and 15th of May the German run takes place almost at the front door of the team - at the Sachsenring near Hohenstein-Ernstthal.
Last year the racing stable from Saxony has been in between the points ranking five times. "In that point we want to step up at this new season. I think with this drivers package and all the gathered experience from 2010 we should be able to drive at front and get some victories this time, even if the competition is quite bigger than last year", team manager Marc Basseng tells optimistically, although the test drives at front end have been disclaimed. "There will be enough time for test drives from 23rd of March right before the season opening at the Yas Marina track."
