Gabriele Lancieri will be behind the wheel of the English Lister Storm car for the last round of the international FIA GT championship in Monza from the 17th to the 19th of October.
Lancieri will be joining Andrea Piccini and David Sterckx.'s team. This year, Gabriele has already competed with this very same car for the 24 hours of Spa and managed to conquer a very flattering 4th place in this GT category.
"The 24 hours of Spa in July that I competed in were for me, my first experience in a covered wheel category. My experience thus far has varied from Formula 3 to Formula 300 on a single-seater. At that race, the Lister Storm had given me excellent technical material. Due to this, I don't regret making this change to a covered wheel category. From then on and thanks to my manager Giovanni Minardi's advice, I've understand that my future lies in the grand touring category. The FIA GT championship is comparable to the Formula 1 in this sector. Moreover the Lister Storm is a very prepared team that appreciated my contribution during the 24 hours of Spa. For this reason, we have decided to compete in Monza together where I will reunite with Andrea Piccini. The prospects of doing well exist well, we just hope that we can get a good result for the Italian fans."
