7 December 2003 -- Lamborghini undertook further testing of its Murciélago R-GT with a two-day outing at Salzburgring, Austria at the beginning of December with Dutchman Peter Kox behind the wheel.
"The car ran beautifully and it was great to have a chance to drive it," said Kox. "It was an opportunity to test the aerodynamic performance of the car, as well as undertake a general check on the systems."
A further test session is planned in Italy before Christmas. In addition, the Murciélago R-GT will be on display at the Dubai Motor Show from 11 to 15 December 2003. Dubai will host the final round of the FIA GT Championship in 2004.
"We are extremely pleased with the car's progress so far," said Manfred Fitzgerald, Marketing Manager for Automobili Lamborghini. "We have a number of customers who wish to race the Murciélago R-GT in either FIA-GT or ACO-governed series, and we look forward to seeing the Murciélago R-GT competing next year."
Lamborghini, in conjunction with Reiter Engineering and using the expertise of Audi Sport, is developing the Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT over the winter months in order to deliver the first race cars to customers in 2004.
