Kenneth Heyer with Ferrari in the 2009 FIA GT Series
Kenneth Heyer will be driving for the Ferrari Team BMS Scuderia Italia GT Team in all events of the 2009 FIA GT Series! "I am very excited to be driving for such a successful Team"!
BMS Scuderia Italia is one of the traditional Motorsport Teams in Italy. The Team raced in Formula One in the 80s and 90s. Since then, the Team has been very successful in sports - and GT cars. There has always has been a strong connection to Ferrari, as the Dallara Formula 1 cars were powered by Ferrari engines in the 80s.
Today, BMS is one of the most successful Teams in motorsport. The Team regularly has won races in the traditional GT races such as the 24hour of Spa or 24hour Le Mans as well as the FIA GT Series.
Kenneth Heyer will have great equipment and environment with BMS Scuderia Italia in 2009, as the Team enters two Ferrari F430 GTC in the FIA GT Series.
Kenneth Heyer (Germany) and Diego Romanini (Italie) will seek to achieve great success for the Italien Team. The two other drivers will BMS announced in the coming week.
Kenneth only finds positives to be a German integrated into a traditional Italien Team with Ferraris: "It is a great honor for me to be driving for such a Top Team as BMS. I am getting a great opportunity to prove myself. If the performance is good, BMS wants to work with me for the long term. I will do my best to deliver the best results for the trust they are giving me"!
In all 2009 FIA GT events two Ferrari F430 GTC cars will be entered. For the 24hour Spa - Francorchamps race, all four BMS drivers will be sharing one car.
Eight Manufacturers will be competing in the 2009 FIA GT Series. Ford and Nissan will be present the first time, Porsche, Maserati, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Corvette and Ferrari since Years are delivering spectcular race events.
Heyer Junior and BMS Scuderia Italia are planning additional races in addtion to the FIA GT Series to be announced in the near future.
The Season preparation and first tests in the BMS Ferrari F430 GTC started last week in Imola ( I ):" I immediately felt at home in the Ferrari. This rollout was to get a first impression of the handling of the car for the next serious Test. The chemistry with the team was great. I am very excited for the upcoming Racing Season".
Hans Heyer, father: "After our first talks with the Italien Team, I immediately recommended Kenneth to drive for BMS Scuderia Italia. Of my active time at Lancia, which was very successful, I have only the fondest memories of my racing career with Italiens, and remember how well we worked together and got along on and off the race track. In a very short time Kenneth has learned a lot and has created himself this opportunity to be at racing at this level. The goal is to have respectable results this Season, then take the knowledge of the tracks and experience with BMS to consistant Podium finishes in 2010 "!
