27/09/2006 - The FIA GT championship comes back to the Budapest circuit, after a four years long absence, for the third to last round of the 2006 season. The Hungaroring race will offer the chance to Matteo Bobbi and his team mate Jaime Melo to consolidate their leadership in the final classification, that they hold since the first race of the season.
The Ferrari F430 of the Italian driver will have 78kg of ballast on board, fifteen more than that assigned by rule to the Salo-Aguas couple, currently settled to the second position in the classification.
The official programme of the racing weekend schedules the first free practice session for Friday at 13.30. The second run will be on Saturday at 9.00 and it will be followed by the qualifying at 15.00. On Sunday, after the morning warm-up at 10.15, the start of the race will be at 13.30.
"Three races are still to go and we are eight points ahead our closest opponents. Our target will be to finish the race on the podium despite the 78 kilos of ballast so as to have a suitable advantage for the last races of the championship".
