Maximum attack mode at the Nürburgring and Donington!
The Hexis Racing team has arrived at the Nürburgring where it will race in the second-last round of the FIA GT1 World Championship this weekend. The French team had a successful outing in Germany last year at the Sachsenring where it scored a decisive victory in the title chase. The McLaren MP4-12Cs, which locked out the front row and scored a double in the Moscow race, are ready to take on Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi on their home turf.

The words of team manager Philippe Dumas underline the whole team’s determination just when it is about to tackle the home stretch in the 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship: “Over the last few years we’ve got used to fighting for a European or World title at the end of the season. We’ve also got used to being the hunter and overall we’ve done pretty well. Whatever happens, we’re going there to fight, to win and we’ll see how many points we score at the end. We can reasonably hope to compete for a place in the top three in the teams’ championship – and why not second place? – and I’m counting on our two cars to help us achieve this result. We’d be very happy if Alvaro Parente and Grégoire Demoustier scored another podium finish. The All Inkl.com team (Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG) has had a great championship; they’ve done a great job throughout the season and deserve the title. But if we can nick it from them, we’ll do so without any qualms! Where the drivers are concerned our objective is obviously the world championship title for Fred Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp; it’s the only one missing from Hexis’s excellent results in this branch of the sport. It’s going to be a tough but enthralling battle. I think our rivals are a bit scared of us taking into account our teething troubles at the start of the year, then our pretty remarkable improvement and the fact that Hexis always finishes the season on a high note. I’m counting on the strength and the determination of each member of the team to achieve this new feat. McLaren GT is 100% behind us and it’s really great that the final is taking place on their home turf on the Donington circuit that’s packed with history.”
After this weekend’s meeting at the foot of the Eifel Mountains, the team will head on to England where Donington Park will host the final of the FIA GT1 World Championship on 29-30 September.
