DARREN TURNER TO RACE NISSAN GT-R
Darren Turner is at Paul Ricard HTTT this week, testing the brand new Nissan GT-R that he will race in four FIA GT Championship rounds in 2009.
The GT-R is being developed in preparation for the new GT1 regulations that will come into force in 2010. The project is led by Nissan's motorsport arm, NISMO, which has chosen Gigawave Motorsport as the partner team for 2009.
"I'm looking forward to helping NISMO and Gigawave develop the GT-R to make sure it is competitive in time for the new regulations in 2010," said Darren. "It's a real privilege to play a part in such an exciting programme. It's also good to be racing in the FIA GT Championship again as I have had some good results there in the past."
The first time Darren will race the GT-R will be at round one of the 2009 FIA GT Championship at Silverstone on 3 May. Further to this he will race at Oschersleben, the Spa 24 Hours and one more race to be announced at a later date.
