Anthony Kumpen, the Belgian who has driven for the GL PK team for two yearsand who missed out on this year's Belcar Championship by a single point, will switch allegiance to Paul Belmondo's Viper squad next season for a full attack on the FIA GT Championship.
Belmondo is to enter three Vipers next year, all with chassis developments that he hopes will give his team a chance to beat the Lister Storms in the championship for teams. Kumpen has already raced in the FIA GT Championship, making his debut at the Hungaroring in 1999 with GL PK, sharing the Viper with Jean-Francois Hemroulle.
Hugh Chamberlain is in discussions to run a Dome S101 prototype next year. The Englishman, who entered Vipers in the 1999 and 2000 FIA GT Championship, attended a party hosted by Dome in Japan last Monday night, but refused to say anything regarding a possible deal for next year. "At this moment nothing has happened, but that is not to say that it will not happen tomorrow," he said.
