ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ – The 2012 North American Ferrari Challenge Series culminates this weekend with the final championship race of its 19th season taking place at Homestead Miami Speedway.

The Ferrari Challenge drivers are eager to return for this championship competition at Homestead Miami Speedway following their interval since the last racing weekend at Connecticut’s historic Lime Rock Park (July 20 – 22). There, among drivers participating in the two Trofeo Pirelli categories, the first race was won by Onofrio Triarsi, driving for Ferrari of Central Florida, thereby confirming his lead in the championship; while the second ended in victory for Carlos Kauffmann, driving for Ferrari of Beverly Hills.
At Lime Rock Park in the Coppa Shell category, there was an excellent performance from Ferrari of Ontario’s Robert Herjavec and Guy Leclerc, driving for Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, who dominated the first and second legs respectively.
Following the North American Championship race at Homestead Miami Speedway, the winning teams will continue to the International Ferrari Challenge Finals taking place over the weekend of November 29th to December 2nd at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. This event is planned in celebration of the F1 season finish with attendance by the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team to conclude all of Ferrari 2012 racing activities with a memorable manifestation.
A Ferrari Challenge demonstration race will also support the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX, on November 16-18 2012.
