Philipp Eng claims pole position for Formula BMW World Final.

By winning the fifth of sixth intermediate heats at the "Circuit de la Comunitat", Philipp Eng (AUT) of Team Mucke Motorsport assured himself of the coveted pole position spot for the Formula BMW World Final this morning. In heat 5, the 17-year-old relegated Adrien Tambay (FRA/Eurointernational) and Henry Arundel (GBR/Fortec Motorsport) to second and third respectively. The final heat saw Jens Klingmann (GER) emerging as winner for Eifelland Racing. Josef Kral (CZE/Mucke Motorsport) and Daniel Morad (CAN/Eurointernational) finished second and third.

In the interim standings, which determine the starting grid for Formula BMW's season highlight, Eng scored only two points, while Morad is next on three points. The Formula BMW USA champion also won two heats. Kral and Jonathan Legris (GBR/Motaworld Racing) will start the decisive race at 14:50hrs, from the second row of the grid. Thanks to his two wins in the heats, Klingmann made amends for his retirement in heat 1. The Formula BMW Germany series winner will start from 11th place.
