Denver, C0 - Philip Major put in another fabulous performance around the tricky Denver street track. Major, 17, remained inch-perfect throughout round 11 of the Formula BMW USA race, just missing out on yet more championship points after his gritty drive.

The Ottawa driver kept his nerve, even when he found himself running three abreast with his rivals. No quarter was asked and none given during the 23 lap encounter, so Major had to earn every inch of ground he could gain.

Following the race the Canadian was very satisfied with his afternoon's work, netting a fine 11th place. "Yes it was intense out there," he said when questioned about the close-quarters nature of the street race, "but I just kept my focus on my car and my driving, not what the others were doing."

Philip was equally pleased with his off-track efforts for local charity Food Bank of the Rockies. "All things considered, I'm very happy with my race, and the positive response so far, to our charity drive for the Food Bank of the Rockies, just adds to the day."

FBMWUSA round 12 will run on the 13th of July as part of the Grand Prix of Denver weekend.
