Asia Racing Team set for Macau GT Cup debut

Asia Racing Team will add Macau GT Cup to its 57th Macau Grand Prix outfit, alongside with the impressive Formula BMW Pacific three cars entry.

The Macau GT Cup is a 10-lap invitational race for popular grand touring racing cars. Thirty- six of these impressive machines will line up on the grid to take the start on the Sunday of the Grand Prix week. New regulations for 2010 will ensure a stunning grid made up of Aston Martin, Audi, Ferrari, Ginetta, Lamborghini and Porsche Grand Touring cars.

Dutch racer Marcel Tjia will driver Asia Racing Team's Porsche 997 GT3 Cup on Macau's demanding Guia street circuit. Tjia finished 14th in 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Class B, having race in Macau GT Cup last year.

Speaking ahead of the event, Macau's squad Team Manager, Philippe Descombes said, "We're delighted and very proud to have Marcel with us this weekend at Macau. We fully expect to be able to continue our excellent track record of success at Asia Racing Team and to supply a first rate product to our drivers. We are aiming for an enjoyable race weekend and the achievement of finishing".

The 57th Macau Grand Prix will be held from November 18-21. After practice on the ultra- tight street circuit on November 19, Asia Racing Team's Porsche will qualify on Saturday, November 20, while the 10-laps is on Sunday, November 21 at 10.05am local time.
