OLLIE MILLROY SIGNS WITH MOTAWORLD FOR FORMULA BMW EUROPE

British Race Elite Academy driver Ollie Millroy has signed with Kent based "Motaworld Racing" for his second year in the Formula BMW Europe championship, which takes place alongside no fewer than seven rounds of the Formula 1 and GP2 championships. The eighteen year old 2008 BMW junior development driver from Claygate has spent many days in the "Motaworld" car and finished the 2008 season with a win in Shanghai, a second in Singapore and a strong six in the world final in Mexico City.

Ollie says, "Iam very happy to have signed with 'Motaworld Racing' and the team have put together a package that I know will enable us to win races. I've worked with them a lot since I started in cars and we were quick before the 2008 season and we were quick again when I started racing with them after it. Although I had a very disappointing championship last year I knew that as soon as I got in a quick car I would be at the front challenging for wins. I had fourteen races in thirteen different countries in my 'rookie' year and gained a lot of experience, now I am ready and really looking forward to the start of the season."

"Alf Boarer, Motaworld team manager and former manager of GP2 champion Giorgio Pantano has been a friend of mine since I was about six years old and has been advising me since I started karting so it will be good to do a full seasons racing with him at last. I received a lot of interest from teams over the winter and although we tested in Formula 3 and considered doing the British championship, we decided that the package Motaworld has put together, to try and win the championship, was too good to miss."

Alf said, "Iam delighted that Motaworld will be running Ollie and after working with him previously in karting and part of his first year in cars, he was at the top of my list of drivers that I wanted Motaworld to sign. Ollie is intelligent, easy to work with and quick to learn and we all know that he has the talent to win and I expect him to do just that in 2009."

Team principal Alan Waite says, "Iam delighted to have signed Ollie for the 2009 Formula BMW Europe Championship, he knows the team well, we work very well together and we are all looking forward to the season ahead. I believe Ollie is one of the most talented young drivers in Europe, as he showed at the end of last season in Shanghai, Singapore and Mexico and I am sure that with us he will produce the results he is capable of. He was always an obvious choice for Motaworld and now he is with us, we can focus on making a serious challenge for the BMW Europe Championship."

Ollie is due to start his 2009 campaign with Motaworld next week, with two days of testing at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia.
