Motaworld Signs Millroy For Formula BMW Europe

Motaworld Racing has signed up BMW Junior Development Driver Ollie Millroy in a bid to win the Formula BMW Europe Championship. He will also join the Kent squad for selected rounds of the Formula BMW Pacific championship.

Last season the British Race Elite Academy driver won with Motaworld at Shanghai and was on the podium in Singapore, where he was the first Brit home. He also drove his Motaworld car to sixth place at the World Final in Mexico and had been running in second place for much of the race.

Millroy, 18, from Claygate, Surrey said "I'm so happy. I've worked well with Motaworld in the past and I think we'll make a strong partnership this season. We've definitely set our sights on taking that title."

Motaworld owner Alan Waite said "Ollie was always an obvious choice for us considering the success we achieved together at the end of last season in Singapore, Shanghai and Mexico. Now we hope to build on that success and make a serious challenge for the European Championship."

The Chatham-based team starts its test programme in Malaysia at the end of this month in preparation for the official Formula BMW Europe test at Barcelona during the first week of March.
