Car Club Gathering and Display at AFOS
For the fourth year running, the Asian Festival Of Speed will be opening its gates to members of Malaysian Car Clubs to participate in its annual Car Club Gathering & Display. The gathering will be held during the Season Opener of the Asian Festival Of Speed held at Sepang International Circuit on Sunday, 16 May 2010.
This year, with the assistance of Modders Incorporated, the gathering has taken on new steam with over 800 cars already confirming their attendance for the event.
"The event is open to all car club groups. It will be a good opportunity to get members from different clubs to get to know one another during AFOS and who knows, it could even be a good opportunity for them to increase their membership," said www.trafficmagonline.com editor Khairul Azlee Abdullah.
Car Club Members and spectators alike will get a chance to experience plenty of activities at the grandstand area, including two AFOS firsts, a 'Group Photo' with the GT3 Asia and GT4 Asia Cup cars in the foreground and a 'Roti Canai' eating competition which is supported by Kayu Nasi Kandar.
"The purpose of having the Car Club Gathering & Display is to provide an avenue for the various car club members to have fun just enjoying cars. They get a chance to watch some very exciting races, see some modified cars at the Autoshow, hear the sounds of the cars decked with ICE and for the second year running, enjoy some great food at the Kayu Nasi Kandar outdoor mamak" said David Sonenscher, CEO of Motorsport Asia.
This year, the Opening Ceremony will also be made more interesting with three cars from the ICE Display joining the grid ceremony along with the KL Drumline Corps, 20 lovely GT Grid Girls and the beautiful "AFOS Angels".
Entrance to the Asian Festival Of Speed is FREE and the Pit-Walkabout access is only RM10 per person.
