FIA International Formula 3000 Round 6 At Nurburgring, Germany

After a few days since the Monza official test last week, the team came to the newly modified Nurburgring circuit for the 6th round of the FIA F.3000 championship. After two good qualifying sessions with our drivers in 3rd row, the race was a day of mixed emotions for the Coloni Motorsport drivers Giorgio Pantano and Enrico Toccacelo. They both showed great performances during the races, each getting up to podium positions before they retired.

Toccacelo had a fantastic start that permitted to overtake two drivers. At the 2nd lap,

when he battled for the 2nd position with Tomas Enge, he touched the Czech driver and

lost 4th position. He regained a lot of positions and he arrived behind Nguyen, who was

in 4th. Enrico overtook the Australian driver at the brake of the hairpin, but the

Astromega's driver touched him and Toccacelo spun. Unfortunately he finished there his race.

Pantano has been very unlucky at Nurburgring. After the start he overtook Pizzonia for

the 4th position. Then he bumped over the kerbs in the Veedol chicane and spun off. He rejoined the track in 11 position and he pushed hard to get back to the top positions. Unfortunately, when he tried to pass Baumgartner, he crashed with the Nordic' driver and is forced to retire.

Coloni Motorsport: "Both Enrico and Giorgio started well, running in the top positions . But they made some little mistake and they lost the possibility to win the race. In any case, both the drivers demonstrated the our car's performance. We are confident with the next race in Silverstone.
