PSM Racing Line ends year in the points.

Nicolas Kiesa once again scored a points finish for the PSM Racing Line Team in the final round of the FIA Formula 3000 championship at Monza.

Having qualified 14th Nicolas Kiesa made a good start but was one of the many drivers who had to take to the escape road at the first chicane in avoidance of the leading cars that had clashed.

However he ended the first lap in 11th position and was pushing Friesacher hard.

Having pass Friesacher, Nicolas circulated in 10th position until lap 11 when he was promoted a place as Sperafico received a drive through penalty.

Then on lap 22 Nicolas Kiesa was lucky not to be involved in a dramatic crash between Nguyen and Mauricio. Going into the first chicane Mauricio hit the back of Nguyens car and flew high into the air before landed and catching fire. On the same lap Hill, Bourdais and Toccacelo also retired promoting a very surprised and happy Nicolas Kiesa into a safe 5th position.

The safety car was brought out for 3 laps bunching up the field and with one lap to go the race was on to the finish, with superior straight line speed Sperafico was able to pass Nicolas Kiesa and push him back into 6th.

Tony Schmidt had his best qualifying performance of the year placing himself in 13th. Tony Schmidt was looking forward to a strong race, however this was not to be as he lost out at the first corner and had to pit after Sperafico had run into him, after a pit stop to repair the damage Tony Schmidt returned to the track to be classified 13th.

The PSM Racing line team were happy to score for the second time in succession, the result pushed Nicolas Kiesa up to equal 12th in the overall drivers championship standings and the team into 8th position in the teams championship.
