(Estoril, Portugal) Oct. 25th 2000- American driver Will Langhorne completed his first test in the European F3000 series. Langhorne tested with the top rated British Super Nova Team based out of Norfolk, England.
"David Sears has given me a great opportunity to test with one of the best teams in F3000 and I am very appreciative for the opportunity. The car was fantastic to drive. It was a little slower in the corners than the Atlantic car but quicker down the straights. Much like an Indy Lights car." Langhorne completed a full day of 150 miles of testing. Within ten laps he was catching the pace of the other cars.
"It was a great opportunity to test on one of the great circuits that Formula One has raced at. I watched the tapes from the F1 races before I came and there are now some great improvements to the circuit. The biggest difference is the curbing."
"I am a left foot braker and was forced to use my right foot for the test. This was uncomfortable for me under braking for most of the test. I will either have to retrain my right foot or figure out a way to use my left."
"I was very happy with my first test in the F3000 car. I am hard at work and optimistic that I will find an opportunity to race there next year."
Will Langhorne has been competing in the Toyota Atlantic Series in North America for the past two seasons. He has previous European racing experience in British Vauxhall and European Formula Ford.
