FREE PRACTICE SESSION: FILIPPI FIRST

Luca Filippi has been the quickest in the free practice session. The Fisichella Motor Sport driver covered in 1'49"167 the 5403 metres of the Brno circuit, where took place the third event of the 2005 Trofeo Csai F.3000 Italia. Just behind him we find the local hero, Janis from Ma-con team, side by side with Filippi's team mate, Alex Ciompi. Maldonado got an exellent fourth place as a deb in the trophy with the Sighinolfi team, then Vilander from Astromega, Del Monte (GP Racing), Ricci, Russo, the czech driver Charouz, the other new entry of the Sighinolfi team Engel, Auinger, Caceres, Cressoni, and finally the two Lola Light of Gattuso e Berton.

Filippi, Ciompi, Ricci e Caceres are the first to hit the track, but few minutes later all the driver are forced to get back in the pit, because of the Mari car blocked in the middle of the track. At the restart the "enfant du pays" Janis signed an impressive 1'49"998, followed by Del Monte, Charouz, Filippi, Ricci and the new entry Maldonado. Filippi became the shadow of the leader (1'50"624, then 1'50"577), and Del Monte break the 50" wall as well; fourth place for Charouz, Ciompi is fifth. 25 minutes short from the end, Toni Vilander grabs the third positions, but after a while Ciompi gets second. 15 minutes to the end: Janis makes a new effort (1'49"309), the finnish from Astromega is second with a 1" delay. 49th minute of the session: Filippi is just few tenths of a second slower than Janis, then he gains the fast lap (1'49"167). Janis keeps the second place before Ciompi and Maldonado.
