The Ma-con's Czech driver recorded the fastest time at the beginning of the session, afterwards awaiting his opponents performance at the pits. Ciompi was fourth, ahead of Rocha, Vilander and Engel. Caceres was eighth, ahead of the first Light driver, Gattuso, while Auinger stayed ahead of the other three light drivers, respectively Di Cienzo, Solieri and Chiminelli. Piccini was forced back to the pits after a lap because of an engine gremlin which had already plagued his car yesterday.
